Community Geriatric Services in China
In 2017, Baycrest Global Solutions collaborated with a developer to undertake a needs assessment to build a strategy and plan for the creation of community geriatric services in a naturally occurring retirement community (NORC) in southern China. The BGS team worked with local partners to understand the market size, needs and community preferences using a variety of assessment tools including seniors’ focus groups. Baycrest Global Solutions then worked closely with an internationally recognized architectural firm to update an existing facility to enable the provision of recreation, wellness services, primary healthcare, outpatient rehabilitation and comprehensive geriatric assessment. The provision of these assessment and advisory services resulted in the delivery of an operations manual which provided the client with a clear execution roadmap.

The Governor of Shandong Province, Guo Shuqing, along with a group of government delegates visited Baycrest to learn about Canada’s approach to senior care.
We are exploring collaborations to help improve senior care in the province, with Baycrest taking a leadership role in the provision of memory care, skilled nursing, and education and training for the professional workforce.
